New Tampa Performing Arts Center Announces Event Lineup for 2024

The New Tampa Performing Arts Center (NTPAC) plans to offer a variety of concerts and events in 2024, including interactive children's plays and full-stage productions.

“New Tampa Unplugged”
This series is NTPAC's spinoff of the hit show “MTV Unplugged,” which ran in the 1990s and early 2000s and featured popular singers doing acoustic sets. The New Tampa Unplugged series features acoustic concerts by well-known Tampa Bay musicians in a unique, intimate atmosphere with lighted cabaret seating. Beer, wine and cocktails are available to purchase. Guests can purchase tickets for a theater seat for $13 and a table seat for $15 at newtampaartscenter.org/tickets.

“New Tampa Unplugged” will feature the Stewart Tussing Band on Jan. 21 and Judy Tampa and the Bunko Squad on Feb. 25, featuring original Americana music and reworked cover songs, respectively, and a blend of melody, harmony and rhythmic rhythm.

The Inventive Princess of Floralee”
On Thursday, Jan. 25, at 3 p.m., Tampa's Creative Arts Theatre will showcase an interactive fairy tale, encouraging children to think like scientists through laughter, dancing and critical thinking, with limited capacity. For tickets, visit newtampaartscenter.org/tickets.

“Dreamgirls”
From Feb. 2–4 and 9–11, “Dreamgirls” delves into themes of ambition, hope and betrayal through gospel, R&B, smooth pop, disco and other genres, all set in the competitive world of entertainment. For tickets, visit the New Tampa Players website.

Taiko Drums of Japan Performs with Tampa Taiko
Tampa Taiko will perform traditional Asian music and dance, including the Chinese Lion Dance, on February 8 at 7:30 p.m., showcasing Japanese events and cultural traditions. General admission tickets cost $15 and are available for purchase at newtampaartscenter.org/tickets.

USF New Tampa Jazz Series With Alexis Cole and the USF Jazz Ensemble 1
Alexis Cole, a renowned jazz singer, will perform her album, “Sky Blossoms: Songs From My Tour of Duty,” at the Tampa Jazz Club on Feb. 15. Tickets are available through the Tampa Jazz Club.

"Music of the Heart"
On Feb. 16, Brandon Walker and Quang Vo will perform “Franz Liszt's Piano Concerto No. 1” and “Johannes Brahms' Symphony No. 4 in E minor,” showcasing their musical talents and their connection to Ukraine.Tickets are available through the Tampa Bay Symphony.

Kids' Film Series
NTPAC's advanced theater offers families the chance to watch popular films on the big screen for $5, available at newtampaartscenter.org/tickets.

“Frozen”
On Saturday, Jan. 13, children are invited to dress up in Frozen-inspired costumes, sing along and follow the adventures of Anna, Elsa, Olaf and friends.

“How to Train Your Dragon”
On Saturday, Feb. 10, at 10 a.m., Cressida Cowell's fantasy book adaptation follows a misfit Viking teen who befriends a dragon despite their tribe's history of dragon slaughter.
