  • The Ybor City Museum Society aims to preserve Ybor City’s rich history and heritage. Since 1886, the society has provided educational programs and exhibits that explore the people and events that brought immigrant groups together. Some of them worked in Tampa’s cigar industry or supplied essential goods and services to them.

    The museum and tours of the area are designed to preserve and educate the public about the city’s cultural significance. This was known around the turn of the 20th century as the world’s cigar capital. From Holiday Socials to Santa Lucia Celebrations, the society will host new events to check out.

  • As the university’s art collection manager, USFCAM maintains a collection of more than 5,000 art pieces. The museum’s graphics and sculpture collections feature internationally acclaimed artists like Roy Lichtenstein, Robert Rauschenberg and James Rosenquist. Several of these artists have worked in the university’s Graphic Studio. Collection highlights include contemporary photography and African art.

  • This immersive art museum focuses on sensory experiences. Although it’s set up like a motel, it’s much different from anything people have ever experienced. This museum commissioned art from more than 60 renowned Tampa Bay artists to create this experience. Tickets are $27. The museum is open Thursday through Monday.   • The Imagine Museum in St. Pete features some of the world’s most spectacular studio glass art with incredible detail and creative visuals. Explore the incredible collection of studio glass, rotating exhibitions and an ever-growing collection of premiere international studio glass not found anywhere else on the Gulf Coast.

    Beginning in the 1960s, the American Glass Family Tree collection began with 500 artworks representing the Studio Glass Movement. Currently, the collection contains more than 1,500 stunning contemporary glass artworks by artists from America, Canada, the Czech Republic, Italy, Sweden, the Netherlands, Germany, Japan and Australia.   • For 40 years, a Dunedin resident collected Beatles items - and now the museum has almost 1,000 items. While listening to classic Beatles songs, guests can learn what the Beatles lived like.   • Another off-the-beaten-track Tampa attraction is José Martí Park, a tribute to the poet, journalist, and rebel who led the Cuban revolution in the 1880s and 1890s. In 1956, three years before the communist revolution, the United States donated a small piece of American land to the Estado Cubano (Republic of Cuba).

    The Batista administration officially accepted it, and the American consul in Havana certified the transfer. It is open from 8:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. However, guests can only view the entire park from behind the gates due to the park’s size.
