Castaway Falls: Adventure Island’s Largest Development in 40 Years

Tampa’s Adventure Island will feature a new children's area, Castaway Falls, this spring. This addition is part of the park's ongoing efforts to enhance its waterpark experience for families and children.
Castaway Falls, set to open in spring 2024, will replace Splash Attack. The new attraction, which will double the size of Splash Attack, will feature a multi-level, interactive water-play experience with two giant buckets spilling over 1,300 gallons of water over guests, according to a news release from Busch Gardens.
“We are thrilled about Adventure Island’s 2024 season,” said Stewart Clark, president of Busch Gardens Tampa Bay and Adventure Island, in a statement. “With the unveiling of Castaway Falls, the largest expansion in the water park’s history continues, adding attractions, dining options and events to enhance the guest experience.”
Castaway Falls is the largest development in almost four decades within the waterpark. The new attraction will feature a variety of interactive water attractions, including splash pads, water cannons and other attractions for guests to cool off at. Castaway Falls will be ideal for families, with a range of games and slides.
On its Instagram account, Adventure Island Tampa shared the attraction’s new features: “The all-new tropical splash and play area will have multiple levels and more than 100 colorful elements, and is an ideal oasis for kids of all ages— even the littlest adventurers!"
