The Florida Museum of Photographic Arts (FMoPA) has relocated to the Historic Kress Building in Ybor City, just off 7th Avenue.

According to the museum, this relocation has placed FMoPA at the core of an artistic hotspot, where the museum encourages cooperation with adjacent art groups, galleries and cultural organizations. The new location has more than 3,000 square feet of display space, showcasing old black-and-white prints by the world's top photographers, and a separate community gallery.

According to its website, the museum hopes to create a greater understanding and appreciation for the art form through captivating exhibitions, educational initiatives and community-focused programs. Cynthia L. Flowers founded the Tampa Gallery of Photographic Arts in 2001, showcasing 50 famous black-and-white images. The museum has also launched various children's outreach and community programs.

FMoPA is open Tuesdays through Saturdays, between 11 a.m. and 7 p.m., and on Sundays from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m., with ticket prices between $10 and $12.
